On Oct.16th, Dr.chen zhaode, the convener of Committee for General Education of Taiwan Ming-chuan University, led their Jinmen educational volunteer tour of 31people to our campus for exchange. Our vice-president Li Shunxing and some concerned representatives of teachers and students from Overseas Education Collage, History and Social Development Collage and Education Science Collage of our university attended the conversazione. The two parts exchanged and learned each other’s experience on educational ideas and methods, volunteer service and some other fields. Mr.Zhang Baoguo, the head of Institution of Education of Ming-chuan University, said that the Jinmen and Xiamen’s educational volunteer tour consisted of pre-service teachers from Teacher Education Center and masters from Institution of Education, which aims at developing students’ responsibilities and team spirit, considerations of both theory and practice and aspiration of excellence. Today they came here, the Minnan Normal University, they were shocked to see students were at drill wearing the unified military training clothing when visiting the campus. That is what has never happened in Taiwan. Our orderly and self-disciplined students are admired by them.
The student representative said, this exchange between the two college students has impressed them deeply, enhancing their understanding to the Minnan Normal University, to the city Zhangzhou and to the mainland. Meanwhile, it furthered the mutual understanding of students in the two colleges and prompted the educational exchange on both sides of mainland and Taiwan. For most of the Ming-chuan University students, it is their first time to come to the mainland. The beautiful sceneries and people’s warm hospitality are praised by all of them. Teachers and students of the two sides exchanged their feelings and experience in a friendly atmosphere and they took a group photo to mark the occasion after the conversazione.
