A participation of Luo Ying, dean of overseas education college in education exhibition in Bangkok, Thailand

At the invitation of “Study in China Union”
(www.admission.cn),Luo Ying, dean of overseas education college and Dong biya, a international student studies Chinese in our university participated in the “2014 study in china education fair(Bangkok, Thailand)” held by china culture center in Bangkok, Thailand during Oct. 28-Nov. 1 . Besides our university, there were additional 19 universities and educational institutions participating in the activity, including Jining university, Zhejiang university, Xiamen university etc.
The education exhibition opened at 10:30 on the 29th . General Wicz Jati, commissioner of national education reform commission responsible for education affiliated with Thailand’ junta and vice president of Chinese-Thailand culture promotion society. Huang Xiyuan, vice president and secretary of Chinese-Thailand culture promotion society. Bang Di, vice president of Chinese-Thailand culture promotion society. Zhou Gaoyu, first secretary of Education Office of the Embassy of PRC in Thailand, Lan Taihong, director of Chinese culture center in Bangkok and other personnel attended the opening ceremony and delivered speech, showing that the Thai government attached great importance to this event.
The Thai organizers launched the one- month media campaign in advance and contacted the Thai colleges to inspire students to participate in the education exhibition. Chinanews(Bangkok),people(Bangkok),and TCITV and other media covered the education exhibition and achieved satisfying results. The exhibition lasted for two days. Many students from universities and high schools in Bangkok participated in the exhibition with their parents. Our university booth also attracted a lot of students and parents. Most of our 800 copies leaflets had been handed out. About 50 students left their contact information. Dong Biya, the international student in our university with her mother played a significant role in a more convincing introduction of our university with her own studying experience.
China and Thailand have solid foundation of friendship and a long history of non-governmental exchanges. The two countries have expanded cooperation and exchanges in various fields and have made significant progress, especially in the field of education. In order to further promote the humanistic exchanges and cooperation, the two countries have attached great importance to the development of overseas education.
The content of the agreement on education signed by two countries comprehensively cover the fields of exchanges, visits, education fund in short and long term, training on Chinese teacher, conferences and academic exchanges, exchanges of teachers and exchanges of students etc. The study in china education exhibition was first organized by China -Thailand culture promotion commission in 2005 for the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between china and Thailand. Next year, the organizers will further expand the scale and impact of educational exhibition.
All the representatives of exhibitors visited Thammasat University, Dhurakij Pundit University and Srinakharinwirot University on the afternoon of Oct.30th and Nov. 1st. The three universities attached great importance to our visit. The universities leaders and deans of related colleges all participated in the discussion forum. We exchanged information and business cards and expressed a desire to strengthen cooperation. The national Thammasat University is one of the oldest comprehensive universities in Thailand. Founded in 1933, it is located in Bangkok historical center at the bank of Chao Phraya River. Its advantage disciplines including law, politics, business, accounting and economics. Srinakharinwirot University is a royal university founded in 1949. In Thai, the name of university “Srinakharinwirot” means “city lights”, which was favored by the present King of Thai. The respectable princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn in roral family obtained the doctoral degree in Pedagogy here in 1968.
We are looking forward to more and more education exhibitions like this and to enroll more and more international students studying in our university.
